When I imagined Seed Letters, I wanted them to be more than paper
That’s why every letter is made from 250 g/m² handmade seed paper, carefully crafted to be strong, beautiful, and alive with possibility. The texture is opaque, almost like cardboard, with seeds visibly embedded in the surface. Each letter holds a promise: that what you write today can one day bloom into wildflowers, poppies, or herbs.
Where the Paper Comes From
Our seed paper is made by a social enterprise in South Africa that provides fair wages and sustainable employment. We wanted every stage of the process to reflect care.
The production is simple, natural, and respectful of the earth. Waste paper is collected locally, from schools and communities, then shredded by hand, mixed with water (no bleach, no harsh chemicals), and transformed into a new paper pulp. Each sheet is scooped by hand and air-dried under the sun.
Responsible and Certified
Every detail is considered to ensure safety and sustainability:
Seeds come from the EU, are suitable for the European climate, and are 100% GMO-free.
Certificates (phytosanitary and GMO free) are available on request.
Printing is done exclusively with water based, biodegradable inks.
Offcuts from production are recycled, leaving no waste.
CO₂ emissions from transport are fully offset through Trees for All.
Even the envelopes are chosen with care: alongside seed paper envelopes, we offer Bio Top 3® envelopes from Papyrus made without wood, without brighteners, and FSC-certified to guarantee sustainably managed forests.
How to Use
The Seed Letter is meant to be an experience. You can write a message, draw something, or let your child add their own touch. Later, plant the letter in soil, water it, and watch as flowers and herbs grow.
It’s a ritual of memory, transformation, and hope. A way to let words live on, not only in the heart but in the earth, feeding bees, nurturing ecosystems, and keeping love in bloom.
